Peaceful Village Life - Sungai Lima Fishing Village 五条港渔村

Hi all,
Looking for a relaxing calm place to spend your weekend?
Here is a great place for you!
Sungai Lima Fishing Village.

This village just like Pulau Ketam (located in the same island actually)
But they does not have any road connecting each other.
Not much people know about the existence of this place including me!

I know about this place via newspaper way back in April reporting about the villagers started to draw wall painting with the hope to bring more tourist into the village to boost the economic activity of the village.

When you step on the jetty of Sg. Lima, immediately you will feel that your heart and mind became peace and calm. This is because the surrounding is so quite you can even hear the sound of crab crawling around. (Joking)
But the surrounding is very relaxing and you will not even dare to speak your normal tone.

The main mode of transport here is bicycle!
Try getting one from the villagers here, they are very kind to borrow you for free!!
*Special thanks to this random guy who guide us and borrow us bicycle to hunt down the wall painting*

Walking around the village,
you can see many people laying their salted fish or prawns for a nice "Sunbathing"
Prawns is the main income for the villagers here I think as almost each and every house have a large platform to "sunbath" the prawns like the picture below.

There are numerous bridges connecting the villages from one end to the other end.
somehow i love to see bridges.
To me, it signify connection. Connecting people around you~~

Walking around you definitely want to find some eatery to cure your thirst and stomach.
The stores concentrated at the T-junction which is the central of this village.
From what I notice,
Only here we can find store where you can buy food.
Other places is all housing area.

"Cham"
The Cham here is different from what we know in the mainland.
Here the mix Milo with Coffee while in mainland, we mix coffee with tea.
Both have the unique taste that will satisfy the taste bud!

Curry mee fried with La La
Coming to a fishing village,
you should not go back empty stomach without any sea living creature huh :)
*This is good but they use maggee's curry powder*

Dried Pan Mee
The owner made the pan mee themself which taste great!
I like to the texture :) But it will be much better with rounded shape.
Hard to explain but you can try it for yourself.
Total bill RM 14.00++ for 2 drinks and 2 dish.
Which is reasonable.

As I mentioned earlier,
the main reason that motivates me to come all the way here is wall painting.
Because I want to help this village as I believe still not much people are aware of this.
Enjoy the wall painting below:
*I'm not sure what are the name of the painting hence I will just name it on my own*

The wall Painting~~~

Boy Rope Skipping

Girl with Crab

Yum Seng

Guai Lou Liong Char Section
"English Herbal Tea" meaning beer

Girl feeding Orca

Mouse Getting Married

Joy of kids

Underwater World

Boy with Dolphine

Im not sure what is this.
But to me this is the diagram of a normal heart beat.
*Science Student speaking here*

Wolf surrounded by Stars
Fishing Boat

Happy and Sweet Couple
This mural feature girls and guy dating by the beach and the Whales jump with joy.
Nice and colourful painting!

That is all the wall painting I discover. Maybe I miss out some?
Im not sure.
Due to the limited information of this village,
I create a Map on my own for the wall painting.
I hope it will help you to locate the wall painting.

To get there,
By Car:
Drive to Port Klang Jetty and take a ferry to Sg. Lima.
By Train:
With KTM, buy your ticket to Pelabuhan Klang (Port Klang)
Then walk out from the station for a very short distance.
you will see the jetty.

You have to study the ferry schedule below.
Basically the boat will go from Port Klang Jetty then stop at Sungai Lima before proceeding to Pulau Ketam. (Time with "Via Sungai Lima" means they will pass through Sg. Lima Village)
Note: you are not able to go Sg. Lima from Pulau Ketam.
(from my understanding la... maybe Im wrong but dont take the risk)

Hope you enjoy wall painting hunting in this beautiful fishing village that have a very friendly and nice villagers.
